Prerequisites
Following are the prerequisites for this course:
● Students should have knowledge of Ethernet implementation and related IP address mechanisms.
● Students must have a basic understanding of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Layer 2 switching principles with trunking and VLAN implementation.
● Students should be able to establish OSI Layer 3 IP addressing and routing.
● Participants are expected to be ICND1 certified or to have equal knowledge by experience.

Course Content
The Cisco Service Provider Video Technology System and Product Training, Version 1 instructor-led course offers comprehensive training in the use and understanding of Cisco® video products and technologies. The modular training course includes elements of theory, product functions, operation, and maintenance as well as practical hands-on and troubleshooting exercises.

Course Outline
The course outline is as follows:
● Day 1: Videoscape Introduction (delivering TV everywhere, components, ABR streaming, Cisco Media Processor, Cisco Transcode Manager, Media Suite, and content delivery networks) and IP in a Video Headend (Cisco Catalyst® 4948 multicasting) basics
● Day 2 and Day 3 (morning): ROSA Suite Overview (network management/control systems: NMS, VSM, SIM)
● Day 3 (afternoon) and Day 4: Digital Content Manager (muxing, interface convertion and overall configuration, interface cards: DRD, MFP, ASI, Gigabit Ethernet, transcoding card, and DVB simulcrypt scrambling)
● Day 5: D9036 (HQ encoding, redundancy schemes, statmuxing) and End-to-End Setup (configure service chain, including encoding with statmuxing, DCM processing, and multicasting with Cisco Catalyst 4948)
