Securely Moving Workloads Between Clouds with Cisco InterCloud Fabric

(Original workshop May 7, 2014)

With many enterprises adopting private cloud, on-premises infrastructure cannot always provide the resources needed for unplanned growth or resources to choose based on economic benefits. One type of cloud architecture, hybrid cloud, combines the use of private cloud infrastructure with cloud service provider infrastructure to create a firm’s overall capacity from the combined capabilities. The hybrid cloud architecture provides the end users with “unlimited” resources in the public cloud with security and control managed in the private cloud.

Cisco InterCloud Fabric is an open solution that supports multihypervisor and multicloud with the freedom to place workloads across heterogeneous environments in both private and provider clouds.

Primary features for end customers include:
  • Self-service consumption of hybrid resources with end-user and IT portals
  • Workload provisioning and bidirectional migration across on-premises and cloud resources
  • End-to-end security with consistent policy enforcement across the hybrid cloud
  • A single point of management and control for physical and virtual workloads across multiple private and public clouds
  • A choice of cloud providers and hypervisors

Learn how your organization can set up for success with Cisco’s hybrid cloud solutions and enhance your business flexibility, securely extend your application environment across multiple clouds, and simplify workload migrations to reduce lock-in risk.
