One of the key ecosystems in cloud computing is the open source community. Cisco views OpenStack as the leading open source community for cloud infrastructure automation, and has committed to contributing to the networking services capabilities of the project. In this WebClass, we will discuss why OpenStack is strategic to Cisco’s cloud strategy, and what exactly Cisco has contributed to Quantum, the network services project that is in the “incubation” phase for the Diablo release. We will also discuss the work we are addressing in the Essex release, due in the Spring of 2012.
