Reinventing the Campus Backbone with Cisco Catalyst 6800 Switches

(Original Workshop February 12, 2014)

As a networking geek, how much of your time is spent on mundane administrator tasks? Wouldn't you like to start designing innovative business solutions? Of course you would, but it might take a cosmic shift in hardware to make that happen.

Now is the time. The all new Cisco Catalyst 6800 switch is can cut through your normal routines and puts you back in charge of designing solutions. The Cisco Catalyst 6800 Switch is built for full programmability with Cisco OnePK to allow you to build apps to automate operations across the campus. If you are more of an OpenFlow user, the Catalyst 6800 fully supports the OpenFlow interface to allow more network flexibility.

Since this is a core switch, it still supports virtual switching systems (VSS), Quad supervisors, Single Sign-On (SSO), MPLS, Cisco TrustSec Technology, and Cisco Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP). It also brings the speed at 10/40/100 GB interfaces, and can be used your existing Supervisor 2T, line cards, and service modules out of the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches.

Sound too good to be true? Join Chief Geek Jimmy Ray Purser for an in-depth look at everything the Cisco Catalyst 6800 can do for you. And your business. Jimmy Ray will have a panel of Catalyst 6800 experts on hand to answer your questions live and get you ready to shift into networking strategy mode.
