Content Syndication Details

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format used to distribute and aggregate Web content (such as news headlines). By using RSS, web content publishers can easily create and disseminate the most current news headlines and URLs.

RSS readers or aggregators (such as My Yahoo!, Newsgator and Bloglines) enable users to subscribe to specific feeds without having to continuously check their favorite websites for content updates. The updated content (or feed) is automatically generated and sent to the user through the RSS reader or aggregator. View a compiled list of available RSS readers.

Another use of an RSS feed is to incorporate content into weblogs, or "blogs". A blog is a publishing tool used to provide commentary or news on various topics. More information on blogs can be found here. Be sure to visit Blogs@Cisco, an open discussion forum where Cisco leaders address key technology issues and where community interaction is encouraged.
