Oracle has released a security notification and patches to address the vulnerabilities in Google Chrome stable channel update for September, 2011.
Description
Google Chrome contains multiple vulnerabilities that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on a targeted system.
There are 31 vulnerabilities that are due to multiple errors in the affected application. Several vulnerabilities are due to use-after-free and out-of-bounds memory errors as a result of parsing malformed content. Additional vulnerabilities are due to errors in handling URLs and PDFs.
An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit the vulnerabilities by convincing a user to view a malicious website. If successful, the attacker could execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the user or access sensitive, browser-based information.
