Version Summary:HP has released an additional security bulletin and updated software to address the vulnerability in Oracle Java SE critical patch update for October 2012.

Description

Oracle Java SE contains multiple vulnerabilities that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, access sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.

The patch update corrects 30 vulnerabilities in multiple components such as Java Runtime Environment (JRE), Java Development Kit (JDK), Software Development Kit (SDK), or JavaFX.

An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by convincing a user to visit a malicious web page or follow a malicious link. If successful, the attacker could bypass security restrictions, access sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, or cause a DoS condition on the system.

Reports indicate these vulnerabilities are being exploited successfully in the wild.
