Multiple Cisco TelePresence products running Cisco TelePresence TC and TE Software contain a vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service condition. Updates are available.
A vulnerability in the implementation of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) engine of Cisco TelePresence products running Cisco TelePresence TC and TE Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to trigger the reload of the affected system.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of crafted SIP packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a SIP packet to the affected system.
Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability in a security advisory and has released software updates.

Cisco TelePresence MX Series running on TC versions prior to TC5.1.7
Cisco TelePresence System EX Series running on TC versions prior to TC5.1.7
Cisco TelePresence System EX Series running on TE6.0
Cisco Telepresence Integrator C Series running on TC versions prior to TC5.1.7
Cisco TelePresence Profiles Series running on TC versions prior to TC5.1.7
Cisco TelePresence Quick Set Series running on TC versions prior to TC5.1.7
Cisco IP Video Phone E20 running on TE versions prior to TE4.1.3
To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker may need access to a trusted, internal network to send crafted SIP packets through a vulnerable system. This access requirement may reduce the likelihood of a successful exploit.
Cisco indicates through the CVSS score that functional exploit code exists; however, the code is not known to be publicly available.
An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause an affected device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input processed by the SIP engine on Cisco TelePresence products running affected versions of Cisco TelePresence TC and TE Software.
An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted SIP packet to the affected system. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to cause the affected device to become unresponsive for a certain amount of time, which may cause a DoS condition.
Administrators are advised to apply the appropriate updates.
Administrators may consider disabling SIP if this feature is not used by issuing the following xCommand: xConfiguration NetworkServices SIP Mode: Off. Administrators could also disable SIP service from the web interface by navigating to Configuration > Advanced Configuration > Network Services and setting the SIP mode to Off.
Administrators are advised to allow only trusted users to have network access.
Administrators are advised to monitor affected systems.
