Version Summary:HP has released an additional security bulletin and updated software to address the Oracle Java SE critical patch update advisory for June 2013.

Description

Oracle Java SE contains multiple vulnerabilities that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, view sensitive information, or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.

The security updates from Oracle correct 40 vulnerabilities in the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) component, which are included with Java SE JDK and JRE 7 Update 21 and prior, JDK and JRE 6 Update 45 and prior, JDK and JRE 5.0 Update 45 and prior, and JavaFX 2.2.21 and prior.

An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by convincing a user to visit a malicious web page that contains a malicious Java applet.

Administrators are advised to apply the appropriate updates.

For additional information about Java risks, mitigations, and best practices, see Java Security Best Practices.
