IntelliShield has updated this alert to add an affected release and additional information relating to the Cisco WebEx Meetings Server cross-site request forgery vulnerability.
A vulnerability in the web framework code of Cisco WebEx Meetings Server could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to perform a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attack.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient CSRF protections. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing the user of the affected system to follow a malicious link or visit an attacker-controlled website.
Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability and software updates are available.
At the time this alert was first published, Cisco WebEx Meetings Server version 1.5 is vulnerable. Later releases of Cisco WebEx Meetings Server may also be vulnerable.
To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker may provide a link that directs a user to a malicious site and use misleading language or instructions to persuade the user to follow the provided link.
Cisco indicates through the CVSS score that functional exploit code exists; however, the code is not known to be publicly available.
Cisco has released bug IDsCSCuj81777and CSCuq86727 for registered users, which contain additional details and up-to-date lists of affected product versions.
An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to perform unauthorized actions on behalf of an authenticated user, which could be used to conduct further attacks.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient CSRF protections by an affected device.
