Version Summary:Cisco WebEx Meetings Server contains a vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks. Updates are not available.
 
 
Description
A vulnerability in the web framework code of Cisco WebEx Meetings Server could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to perform a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attack.

The vulnerability is due to insufficient CSRF protections. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing the user of the affected system to follow a malicious link or visit an attacker-controlled website.

Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability in a security notice; however, software updates are not available.
 
Warning Indicators
At the time this alert was first published, Cisco WebEx Meetings Server versions 1.5(.1.131) and prior were vulnerable. Later versions of Cisco WebEx Meetings Server may also be vulnerable.
 
IntelliShield Analysis
To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker may provide a link that directs a user to a malicious site and use misleading language or instructions to persuade the user to follow the provided link.

An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to take unauthorized actions on behalf of a targeted user. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to conduct further attacks.
 
Technical Information
The vulnerability is due to insufficient CSRF protections by an affected device.

An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a targeted user of the affected system to follow a malicious link or visit an attacker-controlled website. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to make changes to the system on behalf of the user, which could be used to conduct further attacks.

Administrators are advised to contact the vendor regarding future updates and releases.

Users should verify that unsolicited links are safe to follow.
