Cisco Security has detected significant activity related to spam e-mail messages that claim to contain a complaint report from Dun & Bradstreet for the recipient. The text in the message body attempts to persuade the recipient to open an attachment to view further details. However, the .zip attachment contains a malicious .exe file that, when executed, attempts to infect the system with malicious code.
E-mail messages that are related to this threat (RuleID5327) may contain the following files:
The Case_28991921.exe file in the Case_2361084.zip attachment has a file size of 154,112 bytes. The MD5 checksum, which is a unique identifier of the executable, is the following string: 0xA6AA3A8B1E49224829CF2F534C187BC9
