Target Brands Inc. is investigating a data breach that may disclose sensitive customer information.
Target Brands Inc. has announced and is investigating a data breach in stores throughout the United States that may have disclosed sensitive information from as many as 40 million customers.
The data breach occurred from the time period of November 27, 2013 to December 15, 2013. Customer information such as names, card card numbers, expiration dates, and verification codes have been compromised. Based on the number of customers affected by this data breach, increased fraud or exploit attempts may occur. An attacker could use this information to create counterfeit cards or use this information to conduct further attacks.
