CVSS:3.0/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L/E:U/RL:O/RC:C
-
A vulnerability in the RemoteMessageChannel component of Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.
The vulnerability is due to improper memory operations performed by the RemoteMessageChannel component of the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request to the targeted system. An exploit could trigger an infinite loop, causing high CPU utilization on the system, resulting in a DoS condition.
Red Hat has confirmed the vulnerability and released updated packages.
-
To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker must be on the same shared physical or logical network as the targeted system. This access requirement may reduce the likelihood of a successful exploit.
-
Administrators are advised to apply the appropriate updates.
Administrators are advised to allow only trusted users to have network access.
