A vulnerability in Eclipse Jetty could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to access sensitive information on a targeted system.
The vulnerability exists because the affected software improperly handles queries that do not match the dynamic URL pattern for webapps that use default error handling settings. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a query that submits malicious input to a targeted system. A successful exploit could trigger a java.nio.file.InvalidPathException message, which could allow the attacker to view sensitive information, such as the software installation path.
Eclipse has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
