A buffer overflow vulnerability has been discovered in multiple Computer Associates products. The flaw exists in the discovery service component which is contained in the affected products. An unauthenticated attacker may attempt to leverage this flaw in order to divert the flow of the vulnerable process. The vulnerable program is the dynamically linked library asbrdcst.dll.The vulnerable function is responsible for copying a string value supplied in a network message into an internal buffer. The problematic parameter is the string value immediately following the command code of discovery service messages.
