Cisco Security has detected significant activity on June 20, 2013.
Cisco Security has detected significant activity related to Portuguese-language spam email messages that claim to contain a bill payment request for the recipient. The text in the email message attempts to convince the recipient to open the link and view the details. However, the link contains a malicious .cpl file that, when executed, attempts to infect the system with malicious code.
Email messages that are related to this threat (RuleID6326) may contain the following files:
The 2via0440634-bol.cpl file in the 2via0440634-bol.pdf.zip attachment has a file size of 80,896 bytes. The MD5 checksum, which is a unique identifier of the executable, is the following string: 0x0E5A14A94E53625AE18E17828D48ED70
